The title for this posting came from an anonymous comment left on my last blog from way back in early June. (Was that you Michelle? Or maybe Jessica?) I've been feeling kind of blah about blogging since summer started, but because someone showed they cared, I'll give a quick run down of June happenings.
June 9-12: VBS at Rocky Mountain. Kids had a great time. I "taught" a preschool class and generally felt overwhelmed by the 20 kids and 10 pre-teen helpers, but all went well.
June 13-16: Trip to Pagosa Springs. On the way there, we stopped in Salida and spent a few hours with my friend Tracey and her family. We arrived late on the 13th and were greeted by Bo and Becky, Rho's parents. Our condo was adjacent to theirs and also to Tuell and Sharla's. Rho and Tuell woke early to go bouldering while the rest of us went to the resort rec center for swimming and exercising. Later, after lunch, the whole group (14 of us) went rafting. I have stolen a picture from my sister-in-law's blog (thanks, Sharla) because Rho and I left our borrowed camera at my friend Tracey's and have no pictures of our time in Pagosa. Our luck with cameras is bad lately, for sure. The rafting was pretty fun, though Karis started out crying because the guide's pre-trip talk scared her. She was convinced she'd fall out of the boat. No one fell out, of course, but we all got pretty wet, mostly from splash fights between the two boats.
On Sunday, we hiked up a trail to a beautiful spot with a great view of the mountains and had a devotional. We got back to the condos for a late lunch and then Kaela crashed for a huge nap. I'm not sure what everyone else did that afternoon, but I stayed in the condo with Kaela and enjoyed the peace and quiet, reading and resting. On Monday, we went to an area called Chimney Rock and did a guided walk through Indian ruins. Rho and I and the girls left for home after lunch, leaving Corban behind with Bo and Becky.
June 18-23: Bo, Becky, Taylor, Jade and Corban arrive late on the 18th after spending some extra time in Pagosa Springs.
June 23-27: Corban and Karis attended another VBS at Boulder Valley Church of Christ and had a great time, again.
June 28: Corban flies solo to TN for a two week visit with my parents. I leave the interior lights on and return to a battery-dead van. I track down a couple of bored Denver cops who kindly get the battery revved up again. (I can't remember a time when I've gone to an airport and NOT had some problem......is it just me??) Rho and Karis leave shortly after I return from the airport for a backpacking/bouldering trip to Mount of the Holy Cross. Kaela and I are alone for a day and a half to do as we please, which wasn't much.
That was June and I can't believe it's July already!

Quit feeling balh about blogging will ya! I look everyday in hopes to have news and pictures. Next time you go out of your house with a camera, tie the darn thing around your wrist!!! Looks like you had a real busy June! good for you! Daniel's last day of school is Thursday, he got a great report card! Our July will be busy, Donna is coming on the 9th and will be here for 2weeks. Hey this comment is long, I think I forgot I was not blogging on MY blog!
love ya, and miss you tons!
A nice run-down of the month. I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did! I had forgotten when Corban was leaving. I will pray for his "vacation" and a safe return. Enjoy your time without your eldest!
Love you!
Funny (not!) how she says, "Rho and I left our borrowed camera...". At the time though, I got slapped, then called a "Dork", then told "You left the camera!"
"Rho and I left our borrowed...". Ha!
Oh! So in fact Kristen was just being kind in taking half of the blame when it was actually you, Rho, who left the camera behind! Wow! She sure must love you.
